to official launch of Smash Up the Clocks. A timely collaboration between ace bassist Felix X and me culminating in a song, video and some art works. The song is inspired by a factory workers revolt against the installation of clocks by factory owners to make production more efficient and ties in with the increasing rail and train connections around the early 1800s. time really does become money then..and ties us everymore to the commerical tick tock we are still at the mercy of. the song asks us to take time back, reclaim our lives and is part of a larger ongoing art project called Time Out where I try to make spaces, space that allows play in our minds and bodies..where we can think unhindered and freely..play with ideas and subjects..taboo or not..
